Privacy Policy for Vibe Eyes
Last Updated: July 15, 2026
At Vibe Apps, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy outlines how the Vibe Eyes macOS application ("the App") handles your information.
Our core principle is simple: we run no servers and collect no personal data. Everything the App does happens on your Mac — with one exception you control: the optional avatar-generation feature sends a photo you choose to an AI provider you select, using your own API key.
1. Data Collection and Usage
Vibe Eyes runs locally on your Mac. We (Vibe Apps) collect nothing: there is no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting, and no tracking in the App, and we operate no backend that could receive your data. The App stores your settings, any avatars you generate, and your AI provider API key(s) locally on your device only — API keys are held in the macOS Keychain, the system's encrypted secret store.
2. Cursor Tracking
So the animated eyes can follow your cursor, the App reads the cursor's on-screen position using standard macOS APIs. This happens entirely on your device.
- No special permissions: the current version does not require macOS Accessibility access, nor any camera, microphone, location, contacts, or health permission.
- No logging: we do not log, record, or store your cursor movements or clicks.
- No transmission: cursor data never leaves your device and is never sent to us or any third party; it is processed in real time in volatile memory purely to render the animation.
3. Avatar Generation and Third-Party AI Providers
The optional paid feature Vibe Eyes Plus turns a photo into a custom avatar. This is the only part of the App that sends data off your device, and it does so at your direction:
- You choose the provider — Google Gemini, OpenAI, OpenRouter, or any custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint you enter (including a local server on your own machine).
- You supply your own API key for that provider. It is stored in your Keychain and sent only to the provider you selected — never to us, and never to any other party.
- When you press Generate, the App sends the photo you provided and a small built-in reference image to that provider over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection so it can create your avatar.
- The provider processes the image, returns the result, and bills you directly. What it does with the photo and key is governed by that provider's own privacy policy — Google, OpenAI, OpenRouter, or the operator of any custom host you enter.
We are not a party to that exchange, receive none of the data, and cannot control the provider's retention or use of your photo. Choose a provider you trust and review its policy before use. If you never use the Generate feature, no image or key ever leaves your Mac.
4. Purchases
Vibe Eyes Plus is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the transaction and your payment method; we never receive your payment information. Whether you own the purchase is verified on your device against Apple's records — we keep no purchase database and run no license server.
5. App Settings and Preferences
Your preferences (selected character, theme, colors, eye options) are saved locally on your device
using Apple's standard UserDefaults/@AppStorage mechanisms. We do not sync
or have access to these settings.
6. Third-Party Services & Website Analytics
Beyond the AI provider you choose for generation (Section 3), the Vibe Eyes macOS application integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
This website uses PostHog (EU-hosted) to collect anonymous usage data, only after you provide explicit consent via the analytics banner. No cookies or persistent identifiers are stored. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Data controller: Aliaksei Khatsianovich, NIP: 1133043291, Warsaw, Poland. For full details on website analytics, data processing, your rights, and how to withdraw consent, see our Website Privacy Policy.
7. Children
Vibe Eyes is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If any significant changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
